MOV2020 was postponed until a later date

The Organizing Committee of the Meeting of Venice would like to clarify that, given the problems encountered in Italy and in the rest of the world, for the Covid-19 pandemic, it is currently not possible to schedule the XXXVIII MOV. As soon as this epidemic finish, we will make the necessary decisions.

We wanted to remember that the fees already paid for the 2019 edition will also be considered valid for the 2020 edition.

MOV 2020: 6th & 7th June 2020

To prevent the inconvenience caused by high water last year, the organizing committee has decided this year to change the period of the event, moving it to summer.
This change entails the modification of the times of the competitions which were restricted in one night:

First Start Day1: 22.00
First Start Day2: 05.00

This has become necessary to avoid the peaks of tourists and temperatures.

MOV2019 Cancelled

In the light of the exceptional high tide (high water level) last night, the city of Venice suffered serious damages from the material and moral point of view. Given the weather and tide forecasts for the next  days, we want to preserve the safety of our runners, and organizing people, for these reasons the event was postponed in 2020.

An official communication will follow by the evening.

Updates from Venice!

This evening the organizing committee will meet to evaluate all the hypotheses and will inform you of the decision as soon as possible.

Venice has been very affected by the exceptional high tides of these days and the forecasts for the weekend are not the best.

This, for example, is the finish area, as you can see from the image the building has been moved back a few meters from the force of the sea.
